•  Deliberately set fire on Arbutus Road destroys four plex. Fire Chief credits two women with saving the lives of the occupants and nominates them for Fire Commissioner Commendation.

•  Fire in garage on Hartley Street quickly spread to house, but contained to attic and outside.
•  Light plane flipped upside down after landing in heavy wind.
•  Residential Alarm verification policy came into effect January 1. Our department no longer responds to automatic alarms that have not been verified by an eyewitness unless the fire alarm system is required to be monitored by the Building Code. This policy affects all homeowners that have monitored smoke alarms.
